1. What is Russell's Harem?

Russell's Harem is a diverse group of women who are dedicated to Russell Crowe and his characters, and more importantly, each other. Formed by individuals from several boards and chat rooms, the Harem has grown into a tightly knit sisterhood focused on computer arts, writing and other expressions of personal creativity.

2. Is it anything like a fan club?

Although we love Russell and greatly appreciate his talents, we are not a fan club. We exist to highlight and promote creativity; provide an outlet for artistic efforts and to support each other.

3. Who’s in Russell's Harem?

Click here for our current member list.

4. What does the Harem do?

We use our cyber-lives in the Harem to enhance our real lives. We communicate daily about our world, our lives, and Russell's in particular via  e-mail lists, a bulletin board forums and AOL Instant Messenger chat rooms. A number of us write stories, others build Web sites, and many make graphic arts such as wallpapers and collages using Russell as inspiration.. But you don’t have to do either to have a good time. We also like to get together whenever the occasion arises to meet cyber-friends in real life.

5. Are there any restrictions on what I can write, say or do?

Yes, there are a few: no flames, no rude or objectionable language to other members of the group, no personal attacks, etc.--standard Netiquette stuff. But beyond that, we encourage debate on all aspects of Highlander or anything else that interests you: book and movie reviews, frus, even cyber-pie fights.

6. Who makes sure people follow the rules? Who’s in charge?

Methos, of course. ;-) Seriously, the Harem functions as a democracy. Through discussions and votes, all harem members have a say in how the Castle functions, who’s approved for membership, new sections for the Harem home page, etc. However, routine operations, such as maintaining the home page, updating the member lists and story links, and arranging Harem votes are handled by an Administrating Group elected by the Harem.

7. Where can I find more Harem stories to read and see art?

8. What’s the Castle?

The Castle is the Harem’s cyber-headquarters. It exists in our stories and in our imaginations. However, it’s also a convenient way to refer to all the virtual spaces--lists, bulletin boards, Web pages, etc.--occupied by the Harem.
